Dive Leader Training – April and May 2025

In April and May 2025 Vectis Expeditions kicked off its Dive Leader training programme with a couple sessions at Vobster.

Vectis Expeditions, a BSAC Centre of Excellence specialising in expeditionary diver training, provided training for a number of students at Vobster.

Flooded quarries like Vobster provide a great place to teach and refresh skills, particularly diver rescue skills, free from the effects of tide and weather, with a variety of training platforms and heavy duty shot-lines placed at strategic locations.

During April and May, we ran a couple of sessions during which we ran a) DL level rescue training b) Search training c) Oxygen course practical d) Entry level Dive Management Training including some initial familiarisation with requirements of rebreather divers.

During rescue drills in the kit you’d expect of Dive Leaders on expedition added an additional set of considerations and was good prep for the forth coming expeditions on which most of the students would be coming.

Thanks to Steve E, Andrew E, Geoff and Elliot for your effort and hard work and to Fiona and John for you on site and in-water support.
